Web Developer

Are you passionate about web development? Do you love our planet and want to help renewable energy sources? We are looking for two web developers to strengthen our numerical weather prediction platform. A development team member who works together with our product manager, developers and scientists to bring the next generation weather prediction to the world. 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO

In this role you will do in-house software development on our weather forecasting and hindcasting web services for the renewables sector. You and the team are responsible for bringing our weather platform to the next level, from a data, backend and frontend perspective. Your supportive mindset helps us build APIs to support our service and improve scalability and customer experience while also troubleshooting problems and refactoring existing codebases. You collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to shape the transition to a new generation of weather services. You are part of an agile team and lift the team to a higher level using modern software best practices such as CI/CD, test-driven development, microservices, and other awesome paradigms and tools. Projects you would be working on are implementing a customer API to exchange our forecasts and their measurements and an API where customers can configure their own weather simulations.

WHY YOU ARE AWESOME

You have a knack for backend development, preferably in Python and used frameworks like Flask, Django, fastapi. Experience in numerical data, machine learning/data science, geo information systems or any front-end experience with Vue is optional and appreciated. We hope you get excited from a variety of projects with experts across domains from scientific computing, weather modelling, all the way to web development. You are result oriented and have get it done spirit yet are vigilant about quality of the products you deliver. You live in the Netherlands, like working closely together with your colleagues in an awesome office, and are interested to join the occasional social activity.
